Herbal Dilemma and Other Games

Tim Dyck

August 2000

Tim Dyck, printmaker, bookbinder & maker of games will be dilemma showing woodcut prints in Gallery II during the furniture show.

Tim, who presently lives in Durham with his wife Barbara & children, studied the formal aspects of art at Goshen College in Indiana.

Whilst in a Master's Program at Concordia University, he worked with the master bookbinder Odette Drapeau. He now makes a living as a bookbinder, restoring older books, creating journals, albums and collaborating on "books with content" with the poet Judy Lowry.

Tim's work in woodblock print has taken him into the realm of games; a world in which the artist explores the aesthetic of the medium -the playing board or card becomes the vehicle of expression and brings the viewer into the conceptual nature of the work through the playing of the game.
