"Working with encaustic requires quickness, decisiveness and a willingness to both predetermine and create images as they happen. Encaustic is hot, malleable, and luminous. I enjoy the process and the images that seem to co-create themselves. This is paramount: the scupltural possibilities lend themselves to surface renderings here that are intricate, jewel-like, yet soulfully primitive in its presentation." (artist statement).
