The Grannies
Catherine Chatterton
January 2002
This photographic exhibition features the work of Catherine Chatterton, taken from the book Grannies, a collaboration with author Sybil Rampen. Catherine, a Durham native, graduated from Sheridan College in photography. She now lives and works in Toronto as a freelance photographer. This is Catherine's first book, a whimsical account of eight elderly women who challenge the graciously-retiring stereotype. The vehicle of this freedom-enhancing horizon is itself the stereotypic 'wild one,' the Harley Davidson, an expensive icon of weekend nonconformist idealism. Catherine is currently working on concepts for her next book
