Roslyn Levin, award-winning Sumi-e artist showing at the Gallery as of July 6, is also an accomplished teacher and will be offering two, day-long workshops in the technique she loves.

$45 (Members), $50 (Non-members). A 10% discount

Supplies: Bring your own or pay a $15 supply fee. BYOL (bring your own lunch).

Sumi-e is an immersive mind/body painting practice which tries to capture the essence of natural subjects with a minimum of brushstrokes.
Making use of the Durham Art Gallery garden and
surrounding parks, Levin will guide you through this rewarding painting style.

If you take both classes, you may bring a photo or
sketch with you to the second class, or Levin can
provide research material for you. Join the dance
between artist, brush, ink, and paper!
